The Russian Grand Prix had one of the most eventful ends to a race that we have had this season. Lando Norris was set to take his first-ever Formula One win, but the rain prevented him from doing so; paving the way for Lewis Hamilton to take the lead and grab the win.
The Knight was over the moon taking his hundredth win in sport but was also happy seeing his former team and Norris perform so well. Hamilton had nothing but praised for the McLaren, a team that played a major in his Formula One career.

The 7-times world champion was eagerly waiting for a win that will see him set a record in the sport. However, the victory in Sochi didn’t come easy as he had to battle his countryman to take the lead. In the end, Norris had spun off due to the rain, which gave Hamilton the space he needed to take the lead. Even though Lewis is proud of this milestone, he is even prouder for McLaren.
Speaking after the race, Lewis said, “Lando did such an amazing job, he had incredible pace. He did such a great job for McLaren. And it is a very bittersweet, obviously to see my old team ahead, them doing so well.”
“Obviously, they won the last race. You know they are doing fantastic, obviously powered by Mercedes. So it is good to see them reunited again,” Hamilton concluded.

The Knight takes regains the lead in the title race
Hamilton was concerned for the Russian Grand Prix, as he was starting in fourth place after a disappointing qualifying session. However, the Knight didn’t give up and pushed himself to the limit as he wanted to take the top spot in the championship.
The Mercedes driver was chasing down the Norris as the race headed into its closing stages. Soon, Lewis found himself in the lead and took home twenty-five points.
The result in Sochi sees him have a 2-point lead over arch-rival, Max Verstappen. Now, with one week off, Hamilton would be waiting for the Turkish Grand Prix to further extend his lead in the title race.
