Recently, in an interview on Mercedes’ Youtube channel, Lewis Hamilton spoke about online gaming. He confessed that he is not opposed to video games, but he views them as a distraction. However, he is not interested in joining some of his colleagues in racing simulators, such as iRacing or F1 2019.

I play a little, but I’m not interested in those racing games. You see other drivers play it, but I don’t like those games. Sony did send me a whole setup for Gran Turismo,” Hamilton says. “I grew up with Gran Turismo and I really put a lot of time into it back then. I’ve worked a lot with them over the years, which was incredibly cool“.

I did play some Call of Duty with Pierre Gasly and Charles Leclerc. It’s very nice that you can still have a lot of contact with others“.

As has been stated several times over the days, F1 is eyeing a July 5th start for the 2020 season. At that time, the F1 paddock heads to Austria for the season opening race. Rumour has it though, that the Austrian GP may be a double header, which likely bodes well for Red Bull, since it is their home turf.

Sadly for them, they will have to cope without any live support from their fans. Luckily, the support will be plentiful in front of their TVs.
