Speed, thrill, and adrenaline, and then add some Hollywood drama on top of that. Boom! you’ve made something that will undoubtedly appeal to Lewis Hamilton. That is exactly what happened when the F1 sensation learned that Tom Cruise was making a sequel to his 80s classic “Top Gun” in 2021. The Briton begged Tom to give him a role. Any role. Even as a janitor working in the back, would do it for him. The relentless persuasion worked.
Tom did offer him a role, not that of a janitor, though. Hamilton got an offer to play a fighter pilot, alongside Tom Cruise himself! However, it was not meant to be. The champion racer had his commitment set for the F1 calendar and sadly could not say yes to the movie. Now, Williams has put out a cryptic post indicating rookie Logan Sargeant could be in the competition for a role in 3rd part of the franchise.

Hamilton, despite losing the role in “Top Gun: Maverick,” loved the movie so much that he hired its director, Joseph Kosinski, to work on his own passion project. He even roped in Brad Pitt to work on the movie that will be based on F1 racing. However, the desire to work in Top Gun remains to this day. In fact, it is so strong that now he would even ditch F1 to work in the movie.

However, it looks like the latest addition to the grid from America, Logan Sargeant may have beaten the 7x champion to the finish line for that role. Williams recently put out a couple of photos of their driver looking suave in sunglasses, hanging out on the beach. Until here, it was all good. It was the caption that caught us by surprise. They wrote, “Top Rookie in Bahrain ✅Cast of @TopGunMovie 🤔#WeAreWilliams”
Until now, we weren’t even aware that a 3rd part was there in the making. Has Tom Cruise or any producer even confirmed this news yet? Did Williams spill the beans?
Hamilton looking for a co-star to work alongside Brad Pitt
Last year, Pitt met Hamilton during the US Grand Prix. The Inglourious Basterds famed superstar was there on the track and in paddocks as well. It was all for the research for the movie he is working on which is produced by Hamilton. The shooting for the movie will begin this year, but the project has hit a major roadblock. They still haven’t finalized a co-star to work with Brad.
