Lewis Hamilton recently suggested that the penalty given to Red Bull for the 2022 crimes was just a slap on the wrist and that teams will commit the same crime in the future as the penalty isn’t harsh enough. However, Lewis Hamilton and Co. have now ironically come under speculation for a $141,000,000 crime. How their “Sh*t” decision-making is believed to have cleared their name from any changes. What was this bad decision making and how did it help Mercedes clear their name?

It was announced lately that there will be further investigation of the 2022 Cost Cap by the FIA. Red Bull and Aston Martin were found guilty of breaching the cost cap last year with it only being a procedural error for Aston Martin. However, for Red Bull, it was a much bigger issue as they were penalized with a 10% reduction in wind tunnel time and a$7 Million fine. But now both Red Bull and Mercedes are under speculation of being under investigation by the FIA.

Nonetheless, in the latest episode of the VF1 show with VF and Vincenzo podcast, Mercedes is believed to not be guilty of breaching the cost cap with Red Bull being put under suspicion once again. The host suggested that Mercedes had a really bad car last year and is unlikely to have breached the regulation since they didn’t improve much last year with the W14 carrying forward the same problems from 2022. Red Bull on the other hand improved massively including the rocketship of RB19 built for the season.

According to the podcast, the host said “Mercedes had such a sh*t car last year. I’m not sure what else they could’ve done. I mean Mercedes with a half a Billion dollar budget would be a rocket by the end of the season. They would be winning races.  Because they [Mercedes] had such a sh*t car, because they committed to the no pod at the beginning of the season and then switched to W14B, I’m not sure if I necessarily buy that.”

However, when the reports initially came out, the media believed differently putting Mercedes at a high risk compared to the Red Bull. Let’s see what that was all about.
