Lewis Hamilton is known for his side quests alongside his strong presence on the Formula 1 track. There is hardly any field Hamilton hasn’t explored, and now, he is showing a keen interest in owning a MotoGP team. After his successful ventures with the NFL’s Denver Broncos, Hamilton is ready to go a step ahead. With his eyes set on Gresini MotoGP, the 7x World Champion is willing to add another chapter to the story of his life!
As per the rumors, Hamilton’s inner circle attended the Dutch MotoGP to assess Gresini Racing. Sponsors associated with Mercedes link Lewis to the MotoGP paddock. The same brands provide sponsorship to the various motorcycle racing teams. This potential investment could be a big boost for Liberty Media, who’d be in profit due to the ‘Lewis Hamilton Effect’ in MotoGP. Hamilton addressed the Gresini MotoGP story. This is what he had to say:
“I have always loved MotoGP. I’m interested in the growth of the sport. I’m definitely interested in equity and Broncos was the first step in team ownership, and hopefully, in the next 10 to 15 years there will be more.” This implies that his investment plans with the Broncos and its success have given him the courage to invest in other sports. At the same time, he is expressing interest in ownership plans, suggesting that this is a long-term quest for him.

Investing in the Broncos planted the idea of owning another team in Lewis Hamilton’s mind. Hence he picked Ducati’s satellite team Gresini Racing. Back in 2022, Hamilton joined the Broncos franchise when the Walton-Penner family, heirs to Walmart, took over the team in August for a record $4.65 billion. Despite the team’s horrendous start to the season, Hamilton said it was “an honor” to be a part of the Broncos. Emphasizing the greater plans of ethnicity and diversity in the intense sport of the NFL.
While talking about it on the Jimmy Kimmel Show, Hamilton expressed why he loved the sport so much. Hamilton reminisced: “When I was like nine years old… that was the first time I became aware of it [NFL], and I used to play Madden.” However, his journey with the NFL brought him to the MotoGP paddock, not only as an audience but also as a potential buyer for Gresini.
Also, Hamilton is a huge fan of motorcycle racing, so this investment would be perfect. He also mentioned how he wanted to race bikes but his dad didn’t want the same so he came into F1 [thank god!]. Another reason that is possibly enticing to Lewis, is Gresini’s history. The team has nurtured some big names like Marco Melandri and Simoncelli. And at present in the home of Marc Marquez. Now, let’s see how far this quest moves ahead.
