A year before parting ways with Nicole, Lewis said, “No, I’m not,” when asked if he was engaged to the Hawaiian-born superstar.

However, the Daily Star reported that, according to one of Hamilton’s close friends, he wasn’t speaking the complete truth. He stated, “Lewis is doing his best to keep the news ­under wraps but he is ­absolutely delighted. He got down on one knee and Nicole finally accepted.”

They further reported, “The plan is they are going to live together in Switzerland and travel together when Lewis is racing. It is the ideal plan for both of them and will hopefully lead to a big summer ­wedding in August when Lewis has a three-week break from his F1 ­schedule.”

The couple did appear together during race weeks on multiple occasions. The American singer was present in the Mercedes camp when Hamilton won his first with Mercedes. Eventually, fans were left heartbroken when news of Hamilton and Nicole’s split broke.

Since their breakup in 2015, there have been several instances where Nicole Scherzinger and Lewis Hamilton have opened up about their relationship. On one such occasion, the Mercedes driver spoke about what he had learned from his relationship with the singer.

Lewis told Vanity Fair, “I learned the hard way, I learned the hard way. I haven’t talked about it much. I’m really just super focused on work.”

Lewis also added, “I’ve realized that I can’t do two things or three things at once, I’ve got to focus on one. I really wanted to go through a growth process of getting myself to a point where I’m happy on my own, comfortable in my space.”

The British driver has arguably kept his personal life private after splitting with Nicole.
