Lewis Hamilton has gracefully overcome all the hurdles in his life to reach the summit of F1. We have seen him dominate the sport for the longest time. But, not a lot of people know the struggle behind this success. With him being a crucial part of the paddock, fans have seen a tremendous change in F1, in terms of diversity.

But it wasn’t the same when this boy from Stevenage made his debut. The now seven-time world champion was subject to adversity since his karting days. But, the Silver Arrows ace kept his head down and continued working towards his goal.

Amid all that, there was one person who stood by him through thick and thin. That was his dad, Anthony. Back in 2017, Lewis Hamilton bought two $2.5 million Mercedes AMG Project Ones, one for him and one for his old man, to express gratitude to his dad.

The car has the same engine as Lewis’ 2017 car and is quick as a flash. It can do 0 to 124mph in less than six seconds. Nothing less than what his dad deserves for the sacrifices he has made over the years.

Lewis, talking to People, about his dad’s role in his success, said, “He’s the real hero, but obviously I’m the one that gets to stand on top of the podium at the end.”

“People see me winning these championships but I think the important story really is that father-son, or son of a parent, story which so many people across the world, in America and the U.K., can relate to, because we did it as a family.”

With his performances on the track, the Silver Arrows ace has given his dad a lot of opportunities to smile all his career. However, it hasn’t been the same this year around. Something Lewis would want to change in Singapore.

It was a great start to the weekend for Lewis in Singapore as he topped the first practice session. But, it was evident after the second session that work needs to be done on the W13. Lewis was more than half a second behind Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz.

Talking to SkySports, after the session, Lewis said, “[It] started off well, wasn’t as great in the second session so pretty much like every other weekend I would say.”

“It was okay but there’s definitely a lot of work to do.”
