F1 fans are in for a treat with Lewis Hamilton‘s upcoming production film coming out next year. The unnamed F1 Apple movie will be starring Brad Pitt, and it has been making waves beyond the circuits. The last time we had a blockbuster F1 film, it was the iconic movie Rush, based on the story of Niki Lauda. Now that a new F1 movie is coming out, it’s only fair that it gets similar justice.

For Rush, the movie had Chris Hemsworth, Daniel Brühl, and Olivia Wilde in the cast; this time we see Brad Pitt accompanied by Damson Idris in the lead roles. However, one name will be common between the two movies, as the team will be working with the same composer who worked on Rush. Any guesses as to who it is before we dive in?

It was recently revealed that the Formula 1 and Apple Original Films movie will be released internationally on June 25, 2025, and in North America on June 27, 2025. In a more recent update, it was finally revealed that the famous composer Hans Zimmer would be working on the background score.

Zimmer was present at the Austrian Grand Prix, and that’s where the composer announced his involvement with the movie. This is great news, as he is a pioneer when it comes to background-scoring movies. Not only did Zimmer announce working in the movie, but he also performed the Austrian national anthem on his electric guitar at the race.

Having Hans Zimmer as a part of the movie only increases expectations, as Lewis Hamilton and the team have put together a star-studded cast accompanied by an amazing composer. Fans can expect the thrilling action on the tracks to get intense, as Zimmer is known for his dramatic styles in movies like Interstellar, Inception, and Gladiator, to name a few.

Zimmer has already worked on Rush, so this will not be his first time working on an F1 film. Zimmer has been in touch with Lewis Hamilton since 2019 and the chances are that the project has been discussed since then.

Lewis Hamilton’s Friendship with Hans Zimmer

Lewis Hamilton is known to have many high-profile friends beyond the F1 world. This includes Hans Zimmer, who will now be working with him on the F1 movie. Hamilton has heard Zimmer’s work in Rush and many other films as a movie buff. So it was not surprising that the Mercedes champion was happy to be friends with the composer.

Back in 2019, Hans Zimmer made an appearance at the Singapore GP, where he had a live show at the event. He updated his fans by posting two pictures on X with Lewis Hamilton in the frame. This shows that the two knew each other before the composer’s involvement in the upcoming movie, and this could be why Zimmer took up his second F1 movie score project.
