Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes F1 Set New Record with Spanish Grand Prix Pole

Following the qualifying session of the Spanish Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton snatched pole position ahead of Valtteri Bottas. This not only extends Hamilton’s pole position record to 92 but sets a few records for Mercedes themselves.

As it turns out, this will be the 150th front row start for the defending champion. In addition to that, this is also the 200th time that a Mercedes-powered car grabbed pole position in an F1 race weekend.

Without a doubt, Lewis Hamilton is not about to let the COVID-19 pandemic stop him from equalling Michael Schumacher. The German legend is the only obstacle left for Hamilton to add another record to his name.

Can Lewis Hamilton reign supreme in the race?

Without a doubt, Lewis Hamilton will be the favorite to win the race, but he will not have things easy. Teammate Valtteri Bottas is right alongside him, and teammates are often the biggest threats. Meanwhile, the 70th Anniversary race proved that Mercedes is not invincible.
