Lewis Hamilton‘s F1 movie starring Brad Pitt has been the talk of the town ever since the 2023 Silverstone GP when two actors from a fictional team called Apex Racing ran the formation lap with actual F1 drivers. This was as real as it could get. But despite the green flag on the biggest stage, the movie has had its fair share of obstacles. The latest update wouldn’t put a smile on your face either.
The first $300 million project faced its first road bump a year ago during the actor’s strike in Hollywood. Ted Kravitz, who was waiting for the movie to release with bated breath like every other F1 fan, even said, “The Grand Prix circus cannot wait for such politics and antics going on in Hollywood.” And while that issue was resolved months ago, the moviemakers don’t have a plan chalked out for its release.
According to reports, the movie doesn’t have a distributor. The movie’s director said, “That F1 package was so big, and everyone involved wanted so much money up front, that no traditional studio could touch it. And now, in an ironic twist, Apple has been calling around asking potential studio distributors when they would release the movie if they were chosen as the distributor. “

The movie “Apex” still doesn’t have a release date, or a distributor attached, even though Apple has begun reaching out to IMAX about booking screens. Sony and Warner Bros. are considered the favorites to nab the film. Discussions are still ongoing. But amid all this, Pitt is happy with the movie.

Brad Pitt grateful for Lewis Hamilton-produced Apex
The movie has an elaborate star cast with Brad Pitt, Damson Idris, Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies, Javier Bardem, Sarah Niles, and even co-producer Lewis Hamilton. And while the movie may have had run-ins with obstacles, Pitt is really happy and grateful for everything.
Brad Pitt revealed the film’s synopsis, “Everything has been great. The energy is incredible, being able to be part of this and tell our story. The teams have opened their doors to us. A guy who raced in the nineties, who had a horrible accident, fails and disappears, then races in other disciplines. His friend, played by Javier Bardem, owns a team and contacts him.” There is still no information on what its release date will be.”
