Alexandra Saint Mleux wasn’t Charles Leclerc‘s only partner present at the Monaco GP. His ex-girlfriend, Charlotte Sine, also a Monte Carlo native, was in attendance for the prestigious F1 race with her friends. Though she had her fun closely witnessing the cars in action from a viewing point above the famous Monaco hairpin, fans were rather hateful to her on Instagram when she shared her experience with the world.

Charlotte and Charles were F1’s ‘it couple’ since 2020 before they amicably yet heartbreakingly parted ways in December 2022. Announcing this breakup to his fans, the Ferrari driver penned a heartfelt note on Instagram. He vowed she “always will be a very special person” to him and requested fans to respect her privacy at such a delicate junction.

Fast forward to 2024, Charlotte Sine publicly accounted for her first F1 attendance on Instagram. She posted a carousel of sun-kissed photos from her renewed F1 affair, wishing herself and her fans a “Happy Sunday”. She even seemingly acknowledged Leclerc’s historic Monaco GP victory in the second half of her caption. “What a day“, she added.

But the architect cum entrepreneur, who referred to Leclerc as her “everything” before their breakup, found herself on the receiving end of harassment from fans.

Charles Leclerc was understood to have a ‘Monaco Curse’ that prevented him from winning or even standing on the podium in his home race. The Monegasque suffered 2 DNFs, 1 DNS, and a dismal P4 and P6 in his first five attempts on home soil. But come 2024, he succeeded, and how. He led all 78 laps of the race and crossed the chequered flag waved by Kylian Mbappe after a flawless race.

Though Charlotte didn’t mention anything about him in her post, some of her followers needed no reason to spread negativity. One fan began the mockery proceedings by stating the obvious of Leclerc winning but in a taunting way: “Your ex won lol”.

Another Instagram user outrightly blamed her for being her ex-boyfriend’s curse that caused him years of misery. “You were Leclerc’s curse maybe😅”, they wrote.

Another fan echoed the previous, emphasizing how Leclerc never won his home race when they were together. They said, “I think you were the curse of Leclerc” (translated by Instagram)

One user went as far as to accuse her of attempting to steal a share of the limelight that Leclerc earned in Monaco. “Attention seeker” was the label they gave when she was just seemingly living her life.

One fan seemed rather confused as they asked Charlotte to justify why she didn’t even acknowledge her ex’s historic feat. “Really? U don’t say nothing about your man? This week!? Anything? 😢”
