Do you recall Lance Stroll getting injured right before the start of the current F1 season? The Canadian made a miraculous comeback for the first race and scored points with two broken wrists. However this time around, George Russell is the one who has suffered some bruises during one of his adventures just days into the start of the summer break & after Toto Wolff’s brutal fracture. But what was George Russell doing?
The F1 summer break is going on which gives the F1 drivers a chance to take a break from the hectic F1 schedule, relax and enjoy their life away from F1. Many drivers are on holiday having a gala. Mercedes TP Toto Wolff was also away with Susie Wolff and his kid for a vacation. However, Wolff crashed his bicycle and ended up with a fracture on his arm. As much as fun these outdoor sports are, they do come with a risk of injury.

George Russell didn’t seem to have learned from his boss’ mistake and ended up bruising himself as well. Russell is away on holiday with his girlfriend Carmen Montero Mundt. The Briton uploaded pictures of himself trying different water sports on his holiday. In the uploaded pictures, Russell can be seen trying Hydrofoil surfboarding, a flyboard which is a water-powered jetpack, and jet-skiing. It isn’t exactly known how Russell got the bruises.
The caption to the post is “Really fun times trying some new things. 🌊 I’ve never been very comfortable in water but have enjoyed pushing myself outside my comfort zone. A few small bruises later, we’re away!”. While many drivers are enjoying the holidays, Daniel Ricciardo decided to stay back and work on making some ground lost to the other drivers.

Daniel Ricciardo just joined F1 two races before the summer break. The HoneyBadger took time off F1 after a terrible stint with McLaren. However, F1 requires the drivers to be at peak fitness. As a result, while most of the drivers are enjoying the break, Daniel Ricciardo has decided to work on his fitness.
According to @FastestPitStop’s tweet, Daniel Ricciardo said “While everyone’s sipping Pina Coladas, I’ll be in the gym. Obviously, my race fitness is not what all the other drivers is. So when shutdown is on I’m going to use that just to train and, of course, try and enjoy a little bit of a holiday. But I’ve had a holiday for six months!”
