The worst season for a Ferrari driver. Certainly, that is a tag nobody ever saw going Charles Leclerc‘s way. The man who scored seven points yesterday had only banked 6 in the previous three races. The one-lap magic hasn’t come to his rescue in a race that went on for 51 laps. While today marked the first occasion where the scarlet crowd could gather in the parc ferme, Charles Leclerc had his eyes set elsewhere. Perhaps on something borrowed?

The race began with pole man Charles claiming the first corner and while that was the driver making the difference; he got overtaken by Max Verstappen on lap 4 and Sergio Perez on lap 6. While that seemed like the set order for the race, the unforgiving streets of Baku saw a safety car in lap 11 and that catapulted the King of Baku to claim the medieval streets. However, parc ferme visuals were fun to watch even if it reflects pain.

While no drama unfolded in the parc ferme like yesterday, the cool-down room gave out the painful Ferrari situation. Charles, who had managed to keep Fernando Alonso at bay while in the cool-down room, sat at the chair reserved for the winner. Realizing that he did that. He asked Perez, “Do you want your seat?” To which Perez replied saying, “No, no it’s okay,” and innocent Charles, probably tapping into a bit of dark humor, stated, “Let me have this at least!”

And while that may have put a smile on the faces of the Tifosi, it perhaps isn’t enough for Leclerc. And the man who was visibly not ecstatic did make his emotions vocal through a joke or perhaps an innocent request.
