While the on-track action has not been as exciting for Lewis Hamilton as he would have wanted, a lot is going on behind the scenes that has kept the seven-time champion busy. The Briton is working alongside Hollywood icon Brad Pitt to produce an exhilarating film about the pinnacle of motorsport.
The title of Hamilton’s newest venture is yet to be announced, but filming has already gotten underway. The actors had filmed scenes in Silverstone using a Formula 2 car and had also appeared for some shots alongside the grid during the British GP. The production was hopeful they would also get to shoot some scenes during the Vegas GP, but the actors’ strike proved to be an obstacle that could delay the shoot even further.

Earlier in the week, Hamilton revealed to the media that Kosinski’s newest undertaking would miss out on filming in Sin City because of the ongoing strike. He was quoted by GPfans, “Brad and Damson are back in training getting ready to get back in the car,” he said. “We were supposed to be filming this weekend. If there wasn’t a strike we would have been filming one of the really cool scenes here this weekend.”
Ted Kravitz says filming has restarted with the Brad Pitt, Joseph Kosinski, Jeremy Bruckheimer today. They filmed crowed shots in Vegas today.

However, thankfully for the crew, Ted Kravitz had shared that the crew was green-lit to continue filming during the weekend and had already captured shots of the Vegas crowd. It’s safe to say that the Inaugural Las Vegas GP will very well be a part of Hamilton’s upcoming film, and it would have been upsetting if this event wasn’t included. The film is expected to continue production well into 2024, with the Mercedes star adding, “We will continue on filming in next year so you’ll see them around more,”
Earlier it was reported that the filming would be greatly affected by shady sponsorship deals that have gone wrong, but all those rumors were put aside. The path is clear for Hamilton and Apple’s film, as they have decided to reschedule certain shoots around the SAG strike. The Brit also reflected on all these setbacks just being part of the business, “We’ll keep pushing along, it’s still going to be great, might cost a little bit more but I am really confident in what Jerry [Bruckheimer] is going to produce.”

With Hamilton’s unwavering trust in the film’s acting cast and production staff, it’s safe to assume this movie will be a blockbuster from the second it releases. But how does someone with the schedule of an F1 driver take time to make a movie?
Will movie duties keep Lewis Hamilton busy in the off-season?
The budgeting of a film is no joke. With the entire crew needing to be paid by the hour, any delays, even of a few days, tend to add up to a lot of damage. However, Hamilton doesn’t need to worry about that with a net worth of $285million. On the other hand, there is one thing that the Briton could never have enough of, and it’s time.

Fortunately, the Mercedes maestro has covered all bases when it comes to the movie’s production and says it won’t take up much of his time during the off-season. He also added, as quoted by PlanetF1, “In December, I’ll probably spend a day or so with Joe [Kosinski, director] and Jerry [Bruckheimer, producer], just going over the script.” Hamilton had stated earlier that he makes sure he provides his inputs during the racing sequences and calls any ‘BS’ as he sees it.
He further reflected on the fact that it’s more important for the writers and actors of the film to prepare for their parts, “And obviously now we can continue on with the writers and now Brad and Damson will be back in training, getting ready to get back in the car.” Even though Hamilton has never been this confident about the W14, his candor spells good fortune for the film.
