All 20 drivers of the 2022 F1 season gathered together to bid farewell to one of F1’s titans, Sebastian Vettel. The drivers got together in a restaurant in Abu Dhabi and dined to pay a final tribute to the German. As reported, it was Lewis Hamilton who initiated the feast, but it’s Lando Norris who’s up to take the credit!

Yes, that’s right. In a recent interview ahead of Sunday’s race in Abu Dhabi, Norris stated that it wasn’t the Mercedes man, but him who arranged everything that night. However, it’s clearly understandable that the McLaren driver was just joking about it.
During the interview with Sky Sports, the Briton conveyed, “Everyone said Lewis [Hamilton] took everyone out for dinner the other night but it was me, and I fed them what I had in Brazil. So they’re scr**ed.”
This comes after the fact that Lando ate something that clearly didn’t suit him and got food poisoning during the Brazilian GP week.
The man, who had his birthday on Brazilian GP race day, surely has a great wit as he was able to give a funny call back to the misery he faced in the South American country. We are yet to see how Lewis responds to these funny remarks by Lando.
It was a surreal evening that the motorists spent together in the UAE. Most of the drivers took to their social media accounts to share the great time they had with retirement-bound four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel.
Lando Norris believes McLaren needs some luck in Abu Dhabi
The 2022 F1 season hasn’t been great for Lando Norris. Even though statistically it was moderate. Given the pace of their MCL36 as compared to RB-18, F1-75, or W-13, the point haul for him has been fair.

However, the recent Brazilian GP saw the Briton retire after 50 laps due to an electrical issue. Moreover, the British team encountered engine issues initially as they use Mercedes engines, which under new regulations weren’t the fastest of the lot.
Talking about this, Norris further stated, “We need some luck. That’s all, that’s all, but yeah, we’ll do our job.” Norris starts the last race of the season in P7 while his teammate Daniel Ricciardo starts from P13.

The Woking-based team are on the verge of losing a potential P4 finish to Alpine as they trail the French team by 19 points. While McLaren has 148 points, Alpine picked up 167 points. It’ll be interesting to see if Lando Norris and McLaren can push harder and close the gap ahead.
