Max Verstappen does it again and comes first with another Red Bull car following him. Sergio Perez finished second and the team that had the biggest problem with Red Bull having two teams, McLaren, finished P6 and P8.
Lando Norris led the way for the team and stood sixth with his reaction after a race that could be called disappointing, but it was a good gauge of McLaren’s performance. After having a chance to understand their shortcomings and also his competition, Norris said, “I am happy with 6th. George wasn’t on an ideal strategy and we were closer to it.”

He spoke about the strategy of their rivals, Mercedes, and said, “He boxed early to protect from the undercut so he was probably struggling a bit more than I was at the end. Our pace too was evenly matched with Mercedes. We can battle with them here and we can have the upper hand on them elsewhere. We surprised ourselves.”

But when it came to Hamilton’s take on the race, the 7-time world champion was sandwiched between the McLarens. During the race, in a message to his engineer, he spoke about the papaya army and said, “These guys are fast mate.”

As Lewis Hamilton makes his comment about McLaren finishing being fast, Verstappen headed towards the chequered flag. The race was un-surprisingly won by the Red Bulls as both the drivers finished in the best places on the podium.

This was followed by Carlos Sainz who put his heart out to show Ferrari that they made a mistake. While the choice of replacing their driver might have been a mistake, Ferrari is on the right path to improve their cars. P4 was obtained by another Ferrari proving themselves to be the better car compared to Mercedes.
George Rusell finished 5th with his teammate Lewis Hamilton back at P7. This display was highly disappointing for Toto Wolff who is losing his acclaimed driver to his current rivals. But sandwiched between the Papaya army, is Lewis Hamilton. Led by Lando Norris and followed by Oscar Piastri at P8. Aston Martin followed with Fernando Alonso at P9 and Lance Stroll at P10.

The race was disheartening for many drivers who couldn’t score points in the first race. This list included Guanyu Zhou, Kevin Magnussen, Daniel Ricciardo, Yuki Tsunoda, Alexander Albon, Nico Hülkenberg, Esteban Ocon, Pierre Gasly, Valtteri Bottas and Logan Sargeant finishing last. Although this was a difficult start for teams within the second half of the grid, this was just the first race with many more to follow.
In the race for the team P2, when it comes to drivers, Sainz is showing promise but with Sergio Perez in a Red Bull, it looks difficult to see any other car at the top of the grid but Checo’s. The fact that Newey’s magic has worked once again for the team is a testament to how dominant Red Bull will be this season too.
