There are plenty of things to talk about even before racing began on the Circuit of The Americas. The drivers are loving their time on the subcontinent, especially Daniel Ricciardo, who made an extravagant Texas-themed entrance to the paddock on a horse. There was also one activity on the circuit that brought out hidden talents.
The long-drive golf challenge consumed all drivers on the grid. We are all aware of Lando Norris’s love for golf. However, even Daniel Ricciardo took a swing at the long drive challenge. Spoiler alert: his reaction to the drive is priceless.

First things first and he needed mentioning. The McLaren man took his shot in cowboy boots. Secondly, according to the clip, Ricciardo mentions playing golf only seven times in his life. The Australian pumped himself up by saying, “we got this” before taking the shot.
After taking his shot and seemingly feeling good about it, Ricciardo exclaims, “This is fun” and began asking what is considered a good score.
Before the Honey Badger could finish his sentence about 180 or 200 yards being a good score, the results were displayed. The result shocked everyone and invoked a loud cheer from the crowd. The result? 247 yards! Shocked, Ricciardo began throwing air punches in celebration while mouthing, “Let’s go!!”
One person also commented, “There’s no way you’ve played seven times.” To this statement, Ricciardo had to remind everyone of his profession. “I’m an athlete. I’m just an athlete.”
The shot even earned Ricciardo a “sandbagging golfer” nickname from the caddie. Maybe Norris is giving Ricciardo private lessons.

Back in Ricciardo’s Renault days, during an interview, he came up with one of the most hilariously bizarre answers. When asked if it’s real sweat, Ricciardo replied, “It’s real sweat. I’m a high-performing athlete. Athletes sweat. Sweat baby,” followed by a series of sounds that cannot be spelled.
