Lando Norris has been very cautious of his decisions regarding his racing career. He has been weighing out his options and has now finally come to a decision. The young racer believes there is promise in staying with his home team, McLaren. He has faith that rising as a team together would hold more potential for growth.

In a quick chat with a German Automotorundsport, Lando admitted to have met and had discussions with the Red Bull team. He said, “Of course, there are conversations with other people from time to time. You always ask yourself-what is best for my career?”

“After all, I want to win and win world championships. There have been talks with Red Bull. They are a team that has been in the top three for years. But that just goes to show how much confidence I have in McLaren. Although there were talks, I felt McLaren was better for me to achieve my goals,” he said in conclusion.

However, there was only a limit to which he could push the car. He believes he can perform better, albeit he feels a bit held back in doing so. He said, “This year, we’re not as competitive as we want to be.”

“Personally as a driver, sometimes it hurts that you feel like you can do such a good job and you just get a little bit stuck at times. You don’t feel like you’re getting rewarded that well for what you’re achieving or what you’re putting in.”

However, the young man acknowledges that this sometimes can be the nature of the sport and many drivers seem to have struggled with similar situations. He chooses to remain hopeful. He exclaimed, “I just have the faith that we will be able to move out of this little area that we’re in, and have been for the last few years, and take those next few steps later on.”
