Lando Norris has been one of the most active Formula 1 drivers on social media, and it has definitely garnered a handful of fans for the McLaren driver. But that case seems to be diminishing at the moment, as the Briton has finally decided to end his reign on social media.

How is his profile still intact then? You might ask. Well, apparently, Norris has a “minion” who handles his social media profiles, while the former’s focus is now entirely on racing, with least to no distractions whatsoever.

What did Lando Norris say?

As reported by Planet F1, Norris opened up that he will not be deleting his social media accounts altogether, and rather just stay away from it.

Well, I’m still on it, But I never look at it,” he said. “My profile is on it but I have a minion, a guy who works for me and types away pretending to be me.

But I’m away from all that, it sucks.

There has been a drastic improvement in Norris’s performances this season. For the second consecutive time, the Briton has managed to deliver a strong start to an F1 season. But only this time, the numbers look much better than they did last time around, having secured 56 points out of the initial 5 race weekends.

What’s more, he is contending for P3 on the table against the likes of big guns, Sergio Perez and Valtteri Bottas.

It’s more showing the other side: Norris

The McLaren driver reckoned he is staying away from social media to shed a lot more effort into F1 in a bid to gain that crucial bit of performance.

I’m still enjoying what I’m doing, still having good laughs and a good time with my team,” he said. “But there is also just a lot of focus on the job itself.

I’m still that guy, it’s more showing the other side, me working hard, putting a lot of time and effort into things, and having the results that I’ve had this season so far. That is why I got rid of social media.

Norris already has 2 podiums out of the 5 races in this season, and it looks like there’s more to come from the McLaren driver.

So, how far of an improvement will Norris manage to churn out over the 2021 season? Can he hold on to P3 on the driver’s standings, though it sounds a bit too far-fetched?
