Lando Norris got his promotion to McLaren in 2019. The F2 runner-up got the big call after the Woking outfit put their trust in him. Since then, Norris has delivered on the team’s expectations and then some. In fact, for the past couple of miserable years for McLaren, Norris was the only saving grace. The Brit has proved his quality and prowess behind the wheel time and again. However, this consistent input has been one-sided. Now, since the start of the 2023 season, where McLaren is struggling once again, Norris is urged to abandon ship to live up to his potential. The Brit gave his take on this scenario with a fresh new perspective.
The Papaya team started the season on the back foot once again. This highly frustrating scenario has made various F1 entities urge Norris to take his talents elsewhere. In his expansive interview with The Race, Norris gave his take on these numerous suggestions.
Speaking to the news outlet, Norris gave a very interesting perspective and played down the Red Bull rumors. In fact, the Brit is taking these career-defining suggestions as a compliment.

“I feel like it’s a compliment that people are talking about it,” says Norris. “Because it’s nice that a lot of people believe that I should have an opportunity to be able to do better than what I’m doing now, or fighting for higher positions that don’t what I’m fighting for now.”

Norris is clearly a glass-half-full kind of guy and taking these suggestions similarly. However, Norris believes these suggestions aren’t exclusive.

During his time in the premier class, with his driving, the Brit has amassed a few well-wishers. These well wishes are urging him to leave McLaren before it’s too late. However, Norris feels these suggestions aren’t exclusive and/or limited to him.
“If I look at it from that perspective, it’s a compliment that people are saying it. But I think it’ll be the same with any driver, if they’re having a tough time or if they’re not getting the car that people maybe believe that they should be in. And it’s what people are going to want to come up with,” believes Norris
