McLaren’s new rising star, Lando Norris, recently did an interview with Motorsport Total.com. The young driver is being noticed by everyone in the field, as he’s been making remarkable progress on track. Lando finished at p7 in the Italian Grand Prix and has been outdoing his teammate Daniel Ricciardo for some time now.
Amid all this, there is a slight chance Daniel Ricciardo might shift to Mercedes as a reserve driver from the new F1 season as he no longer has a seat at McLaren for 2023.
Norris, on the other hand, is climbing charts and is swiftly becoming a rising racer to watch out for.

Having showcased some underwhelming performances, it seems Daniel Ricciardo is changing his course of action around F1. Despite that, Lando Norris doesn’t seem to have sympathy for the Australian. Now, as per recent developments, Lando has made some more interesting comments about his teammate.
“There are certain things that he does very well and that I could learn from,” said Norris. “But,” adds the Briton, “it’s not like I feel like I’m on a whole new level because of him.” [translated using Google]
Norris acknowledged Ricciardo’s years of experience and said that his learning would be something he would be able to incorporate in years to come. And even though there are things that he has learned from the man, he doesn’t account for his performance this season to him solely.

News about Oscar Piastri partnering with Norris has been confirmed recently, as Daniel departs by the end of the season. There seems to be immense pressure on the new kid on the block as a lot of opinions have weighed in stating the tremendous competition Oscar would face against Norris, who’s currently fairing well. What exactly are Norris’ thoughts on the new entry?

Norris is all praises for McLaren, as he believes they accommodate drivers in a way that they feel very comfortable as a newcomer. Moreover, talking about his future partner, he mentioned, “I’ve had two very different, extremely good drivers [Carlos Sainz Jr and Ricciardo as teammates] in my first few years in Formula 1, so I always look forward to working with someone new.”

He further added, “I just hope that they’re someone you can get along with and have some fun with [but] I [also] don’t mind if they hate me, and they never want to talk to me.”
“You have to get people who are more ruthless, and at the same time don’t want to be as friendly. I guess there’d be differences between Carlos and Daniel”
