F1 drivers are ritualistic in many ways. They generally have a routine that they follow before every race. McLaren driver Lando Norris is no different. Even he has a checklist that he goes through before going out onto the track on a Sunday.

The Britton recently revealed the contents of the said list. Although it is fairly basic, it is very endearing.

Lando Norris before races

In a recent interview with Vanity fair, Norris revealed what he does before every race. And it has a lot of F1 fans starry-eyed at his actions.

Lando said, “I always call my parents”. He also added that he takes a nap and does some stretching before stepping out on the track.

He also added that “Still my mom wants to hear my voice before I go race.”  even though he has been in the racing scene for so many years now.

The McLaren driver is one of F1’s most adored drivers in the paddock and this revelation just adds to his boyish charm.

Expectations from the 2022 season

The British driver enters his 4th season with McLaren. He will be looking to click on from his stellar 2021 form and carry that into the 2022 season.

McLaren, who looked great at the Barcelona pre-testing faced some issues in the Bahrain testing. Daniel Ricciardo tested positive for COVID-19, and then Norris faced braking issues that the team struggled to fix. This cost them a lot of running time at the tests and they managed to complete only 199 laps, the least of all teams.

It has not been a perfect start to the season for the team but they will be looking to fix their issues before the season opener in Bahrain this weekend.
