Lando Norris is known to enjoy many sports, along with Formula 1. The list includes golf and tennis, and now it looks like he is diving into the world of soccer. It’s not a surprise, as the McLaren driver grew up in Bristol, UK, that he would take an interest in football; after all, the English Premier League is one of the biggest events to happen every year.

While Lando Norris has not signed with a soccer team so far, he was spotted at the stadium during the PlayStation Cup. He was recently spotted at the Real Madrid vs. Dortmund football match, and he shared a story on Instagram of his experience to confirm it. But that’s not all; he was again spotted at the stadium on the Instagram story of a football player, Boumé Sama, and was tagged with PlayStation as a sponsor of the UCL finals.

The Real Madrid vs. Dortmund match was an important match for all fans, and Lando Norris was among them. While it’s unclear who Norris was rooting for, Real Madrid won the game, scoring 2 goals to Dortmund’s 0. It was in the 74th minute that Dani Carvajal scored the first goal of the match, and that was followed by Vinicius Junior in the 83rd minute.

The McLaren driver was spotted wearing a blue PlayStation jersey, while the man sitting next to him was wearing the opposite team’s white jersey. The story was taken a day after the Real Madrid match, as Lando Norris spent two days at the football stadium enjoying another sport in his off time from Formula 1. Spanish fans have a lot to celebrate as they defeat the German team that has been strong in the last few matches.

This news comes as a surprise, though, as it was only several months ago that Lando Norris stated that he was no longer a football fan.

Why was Lando Norris done with football?

Adam Norris, Lando Norris’ father, is friends with Steve Lansdown, the majority shareholder of Bristol City, the Bristol Bears, and the Bristol Flyers. Bristol City play their home games at Ashton Gate, which they share with the Premiership Rugby team, the Bristol Bears. Located close to the city center of Bristol, Ashton Gate serves as a central hub for sports fans, including Lando Norris.

According to GP fans, Lando Norris once mentioned that Bristol City was his childhood club before he became a Manchester United fan because of Ronaldo. The Portuguese star had two stints at Manchester United, with the most successful period between 2003 and 2009, likely when Norris switched his allegiance. Ronaldo returned to Manchester United in 2021 but eventually grew dissatisfied with the club.

This led him to move away from football, and with him being at the UCL matches, it seems like he is finding his interest again. That being said, who do you think Lando Norris was supporting between Real Madrid and Dortmund? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
