Lando Norris is a young and energetic driver who has an extremely large fan following outside the F1 world too. Not only is he a driver for McLaren, but he has made a name for himself in the YouTube world too. So it should not be surprising to see him in a video unless the channel has only 54 subscribers.
After winning the Miami Grand Prix, the McLaren driver has been on the news more than ever, as this was his first win. Many fans came together to celebrate the win at the circuit and home. However, this one artist wanted to gift Norris something to remember his win and the result of the art piece was nothing short of breathtaking.

Lando Norris’ first win was such an iconic moment that even Max Verstappen was found smiling despite losing a race. To celebrate the Briton’s first win, an artist called David Johnson, who has been making Formula Art for a while, painted Norris a picture from a photo of his first win. The video of the painting was uploaded to YouTube on Johnson’s channel. “Wow” was the response when the McLaren driver saw himself in the painting with his index showing the number 1.
After looking at the image, Norris’s sights went on his helmet, and he said, “The car looks like a photograph, and I love the helmet.” He then told the story of his helmet saying, “Show, yeah, Sick! on when you showed with the helmet on your phone last year. It took a little bit of getting used to. Yes, now, even for me, it’s weird because I was quite a—I’ve had this, like, the other one, like, my whole life.”
Norris explained how this helmet is slightly different and said, “So they kind of, like, changed quite a bit to this. But the main thing was the yellow stage.” Being able to meet Lando Norris in person and give him the art must have been an amazing experience for Johnson as he said, “Yeah, it’s an honor, it really is. I was just saying to Amy and to Mark, like, to capture every season, to see this moment from each one.”
A first win is something that no driver can ever forget and neither can their fans. Lando Norris achieved his first win after a long career of being on the lower steps of the podium and there’s no doubt that it will be a day he remembers forever.
What moments will Lando Norris remember for the rest of his life?
While Norris was not to take the painting home immediately, he stated that it was the coolest one David Johnson had made. He then mentioned how he remembers all the memories from the race like, “[being] on a lap, crossing the line, wow, jumping onto the fans.. on the team.”

The Miami GP winner then was asked if the feeling of joy sunk in immediately or if it took a while and to that Norris answered saying that the whole thing took a while from the realization of how long it would take to achieve and then when it happens, he explained that it gets special instantly.
Norris was affected by the No-Wins curse and it is finally broken in the 2024 season. He explained how, among all the days after the victory, Tuesday was special, as he was partying Sunday night and recovering the next day. The video ends with Lando Norris and David Johnson posing with the painting in their hands.
