Lando Norris has recently opened up about the Mercedes AMG F1. The McLaren driver has talked about the defending Constructor’s Champions and their performance. Team Mercedes has been brilliant in their testing in Barcelona, Spain last week.

The new season testing has just concluded at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. Alongside Red Bull, McLaren and Ferrari, Mercedes were also looked strong the entire test.

As expressed by Lando, the Silver Arrows looked good during testing. This is a piece of good news for the Silver Arrows fans. This gives high hopes to the fans as they’d expect their favorite team to defend their Constructor’s title and see Lewis Hamilton going for his eighth championship.

Talking about Mercedes and their test performance, Norris conveyed, “Mercedes normally never look this good in tests, they just do it when they come to the first race. If they do well in testing, it probably means they will be great in the first race! Of course everyone worked on their own programs. Everyone had their own unique fuel load, engine mode and other aspects.”

When asked about the competition, the McLaren driver further stated, “Ferrari, for example, looked very good from day one. They’ve always topped the timetable and looked good on long drives.”

They look really strong. Mercedes and Red Bull are with us there. In fact, I’d say they’re a little ahead at the moment. I feel like we have a lot of work to do as a team if we want to fight them, but that was to be expected.“, the McLaren driver asserted.

As for Lando Norris, he has been brilliant last year. The British driver picked up four podiums throughout the season and also took pole position at the 2021 Russian Grand Prix. Last year, the 22-year-old clinched 160 points and finished in P6 in the driver’s championship, right behind Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz. With a shining new contract under his belt, it’ll be interesting to see how the Briton shines in his new McLaren challenger in the season to come.
