Being a father is not an easy job, and it certainly must be even more difficult when you have to travel around with your racer son as well as manage his career. This has been the role of several fathers of the drivers on our grid, and Lando Norris is no exception. His father, Adam Norris, worth nearly $280 million, called looking after his son a five-day-a-week job. However, their paths changed once the driver successfully climbed to F1 with McLaren.

Now, the senior Norris is working in a different role, which he believes has only been made possible thanks to his son’s successful rise. With his latest venture, launched in 2019, to counter cheap Chinese scooters, Adam Norris plans to revolutionize the $33 billion EV scooter industry with his brand Pure Electric. The now estimated $42 million venture came about when he saw an opportunity to pursue his passion for the environment and innovation. And thus, an e-scooter company aimed at revolutionizing the way we move around cities was born.

Pure Electric’s e-scooters are designed to cater to different needs and price ranges. But their innovation doesn’t stop there. After Lando’s ascent in Formula 1, Norris realized that his son’s colleagues in the racing industry could also benefit from the company’s products. “Motorsport and riding are events in which you have to travel long, extensive distances to make progress,” he says, as quoted by Motorsport Total. “It’s a complete coincidence, but motorsport is the area where we currently sell most of the products in sports.”

“The great thing is that you can fold our product together and put it in the back of the car to get to the racetrack, go to the race truck, register, take off, for driver briefing – all of this – it’s an easy way to move around the paddock.”

With an F1 plugin and marketing from Lando himself, Adam, a successful entrepreneur in the past, can make a name for himself in the industry. Already claiming to have an order from a Le Mans team, a purchase order from F1 would certainly give a huge boost to the Briton’s ambitions.

Relationship between Lando Norris and Adam Norris

Formula 1 is a cash-splurging sport. To survive before and beyond the junior championship series, you need hefty sums of money to just keep yourself floating. And for Lando, who comes from an affluent background, his father, who was Britain’s 501st richest person in 2018, ensured it.

The relationship between the father-son duo has been tight. While Lando wanted to follow in the footsteps of MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi, it was his father who introduced the McLaren driver to four-wheel racing. After they went to watch the Super 1 National Kart Championships, there was no looking back for Lando.
