As the F1 prepares for America’s first race of the season, Lando Norris decided to spend his time off partying with Dutch DJ Martin Garrix. But the McLaren driver had to pay a heavy price for it. The injury comes at a time when the driver has had an impressive start to the season, but now there is a question mark over his participation in the next race.

A picture has surfaced on the internet showing Norris’ face covered in bandages, as he nurses a cut on his nose with blood drops visible on his top. These images are from the Dutch capital Amsterdam. Norris was partying in a boat alongside Martin Garrix, likely taking part in Koningsdag (King’s Day) celebrations when he cut his face.

Reports indicate that he cut his nose on broken glass while celebrating. In the image that is shared on Instagram, Norris can be seen smiling indicating, he might be fine. Norris and Garrix, who is a close friend of Max Verstappen, spent time snowboarding together and preparing for a snow-kart race during F1’s off-season. They traveled to Finland to enjoy the snow after spending the earlier portion of the trip in Bali, as showcased on Garrix’s Instagram.

However, Norris’s latest adventure with Garrix might have been more than he bargained for. The accident comes after Norris started the 2024 F1 campaign in good form.

In five races till now, Norris has had two podium finishes and has collected 58 points, 20 more than his highly rated McLaren team-mate Oscar Piastri, and is currently sitting fifth in the Drivers’ standings. He finished second in the Chinese Grand Prix, denying Red Bull a fourth one-two finish of the season. Things have been looking up for him since his heavy crash at the Las Vegas GP last year.

In Vegas, Norris started the race from P15 on the grid and was up to P13 in the opening laps of the event. However, the Briton lost the back of the car on Lap 4, causing him to spin on the straight and hit the wall approaching Turn 12. He was rushed to the medical center and had precautionary checks at the University Medical Center in Las Vegas, before being discharged. He was back for the last race of the season in Abu Dhabi.

Will it be a similar case this time following his facial injury or will the driver miss out on Miami Grand Prix?

Will Lando Norris make it to the Miami Grand Prix?

The first question after the image of Norris’s facial injury surface was whether the British driver would be available for the Miami Grand Prix. On first look, the cut appears to be severe with Norris’s face completely bandaged. But recent images of the driver suggest that the injury may not have been too serious.

Well, this bodes well for Norris as he looks to keep up his good form this season and will hope to brush off an unwanted record. Norris has 15 podium finishes to his name, the most out of any F1 driver, who hasn’t won a race. Will the Miami Grand Prix change that?
