The dictionary might run out of words to describe how thrilling the 2024 Dutch Grand Prix has been. While Max Verstappen failed to dominate, Lando Norris seized the throne in Zandvoort. Despite another failed launch, the McLaren star was able to maintain his grit and pace until lap 18. The Brit then overtook the race leader- Max Verstappen, and there was no turning back. It looks like McLaren has taken Red Bull’s tagline “Red Bull gives you wings” a bit too seriously. Norris flew across the circuit, making it hard to tell if Red Bull or McLaren had the wings.

Moreover, Lando’s most impressive trait today has been his attitude of not giving up. Usually, after losing his lead, the Brit begins with his train of mistakes. Norris revealed a new side at Zandvoort; hopefully, he’ll maintain it for the rest of the races. Meanwhile, Lando Norris’ former teammate Fernando Alonso is finding it difficult to digest the fact that McLaren has become so dominant. The level of performance that the Woking-based has portrayed this season is sublime.

So, the ‘Spanish Samurai’ became a scrutineer and inspected the MCL38 to ensure everything was alright. Bending over to take a good look at the rear wings and tires, Alonso made sure there was no foul play going on. Of course, ‘Nando’ found nothing wrong with Lando’s car, but the moment was truly hilarious.

At the same time, the Papaya fans are thanking the tech team for producing the amazing work of art- MCL38. Without this, neither Lando Norris nor Oscar Piastri could’ve gained dominance in F1. Moreover, this era of power has returned to McLaren after decades, so of course they don’t want to let go of these moments of wins and podiums throughout the 2024 season.

McLaren’s mighty upgrades played a crucial role in Lando Norris’ Dutch GP win

The FIA has confirmed that Lando Norris’ team has made ten significant upgrades to the MCL38 for the 2024 Dutch Grand Prix. That being said, McLaren has attributed their wins and dominance to these upgrades. Besides the drivers’ skills, a perfect setup is of utmost importance in winning a race. Since Zak Brown has taken the reigns, the team has only grown exponentially. Moreover, their massively talented and skilled technicians and mechanics have made the impossible look easy. With Rob Marshall from Red Bull and Andrea Stella’s strategic patience, McLaren has become the biggest threat of the silly season. Combined that with Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri’s speed- pure brilliance.

Coming back to the upgrades, McLaren had completely revised Front Wings, revised side pod inlets, and offloaded beam wings to name a few. This was the second major upgrade since Miami GP which also saw Lando win the race, that too his maiden one. If this amazing streak continues, then the team will see themselves on the top of the Constructor’s standing. Meanwhile, Norris could surpass Max Verstappen to take the top spot in the Driver’s standing. The target doesn’t seem so impossible anymore.

The next stop is Monza. Another historic circuit, another Max Verstappen arena. But given the current picture, both the Papaya army wingmen could dethrone the Dutchman with ease.
