Mclaren driver, Lando Norris, has given his thoughts on the MCL35M as he drove around the track at Silverstone. As their new car will be powered by the dominant Mercedes engine for the upcoming 2021 Formula One season.

The Woking-Based team went for a film day at the Silverstone track to test the new car that they would put on the grid for the new season. The 21-year-old was the first to get his hands on the new machinery ahead of his Australian teammate, Daniel Ricciardo.

Mclaren having shifted to Mercedes engines, Norris could feel the difference between the engines and could make out how different the car felt around the track.

While speaking to RacingNews365 as quoted by Motorsport Turkey, Norris said, “It’s great to be back, as it turns out, there have been a few changes with Mercedes. The sounds are different already, and the vehicle feels a little different. ”

The 21-year-old added, “Today, for the first time, I can really start giving more feedback and we can start to shape more and more of the way we will go throughout the year”

Lando is already excited to see how much he can extract from their new engine, he said, ” it will feel great to push the limits of the vehicle, to feel you are at the limit, to push the vehicle to its limits in many bends.” (translated via Google)

After having a successful 2020 season by finishing 3rd in the constructor’s championships due to amazing performances by Norris & Carlos Sainz. The decision to shift to Mercedes power units shows the team is heading in an upward trajectory.
