Similarly, McLaren drivers Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo have both hinted at taking part in Indy500 at some point in their racing career.

However. team principal Andreas Seidl believes that should focus on their objectives in F1 rather than get distracted by another championship.

McLaren should focus their eyes on the F1 track and not on Indy500, says Seidl

Upon being asked if Norris’ contract included offers to race with McLaren in other series, Siedl, as quoted by GPFans, said, “That’s obviously a question you will have to check with Zak. He’s in charge of all the other projects. My focus is on Formula 1.”

“I also think it’s important for both Daniel [Ricciardo] and Lando to have full focus at the moment on Formula 1. This task is big enough. Once we have achieved our goals as a team then I think it’s the right time to also discuss other projects within McLaren Racing,” Seidl concluded.
