2022 is arguably the most anticipated season in F1 history. The sport is bringing in new regulations to bunch up the field closer and promote better racing. This meant that we had to question everything: McLaren F1 boss

As reported by Motorsport-Turkey, the teams can only spend up to one $145 million in the 2022 season to develop their car. This will mean that the big manufacturers would not have a significant advantage over an independent team.

“Obviously, the biggest challenge in preparing for this new season has been to develop a completely new car in line with the budget cap that was first implemented last year, with brand new technical adjustments,” said Seidl.

He added, “This meant that we had to question everything. We had to question a lot of things, from approaches from the past, how parts are to be manufactured, how to design them, whether it could be made simpler to manufacture by using cheaper materials in some parts where possible, for example.”
