Norris, during the team talk back at the back at Woking, England, has opened up about their objective. In a short speech shared by the official Twitter handle of the McLaren F1 team, the 22-year-old driver urged everyone to take note of their target and approach accordingly.
Talking about this, the young Briton shared, “Well, I think we’ve one clear objective… to fight against Alpine.”
“So that’s our clear objective. Honestly, we could say that they are ahead of us in pace. We can also still fight them. I think in general if we build a quicker car this season.”
“We’re still in the fight, we were ahead of them in last Singapore, so I think things like reliability, things like strategy, we’ve done a better job than them the whole season.”
“So if we can keep that up until the very end. We can still keep up the fight so, that’s our plan,” further asserted the McLaren driver.

How McLaren has fared against Alpine in the 2022 F1 season?
In the 2022 F1 constructors’ championship, McLaren stands in P5 with 130 points, as compared to Alpine’s 143. Eyeing for the P4 spot, which the French team currently occupies, McLaren will have to outshine them in the coming races in the United States, Mexico, Brazil, and Abu Dhabi.
Statistically, the French team has an upper hand over their British counterpart in terms of pace. However, they lack reliability, and Fernando Alonso suffered multiple DNFs. This cost the Spaniard and Alpine a bunch of points.
