The British driver thinks the outcomes ought to have been better. Norris expressed his dissatisfaction with the team, saying that the team might be making significant progress in the right direction, but the outcome was not what he had anticipated.

While expressing his dissatisfaction, Norris said, “It should have been a lot better. We should have been P4 today. A bit disappointed honestly. I think as a team we didn’t do the best job making the right decisions what to do, but still things were positive.”
Later, the Briton also revealed the positives that the MCL60 had. He said, “We were in the middle of nowhere, and also not being able to do the runs with that tyre tomorrow. So, mixed minds but many positive things. Like the upgrades coming and working. We were pushing hard to get the drag off the car so we are running low downforce and the floor is working well.”

Lando Norris took a jab at McLaren engineers
The MCL60 from McLaren has undergone some significant upgrades that have sped up the vehicle. Norris thought the car’s handling had been fairly decent. The young driver, who has always strived for excellence, isn’t happy with his team’s efforts, though. Norris thinks that by this stage, every team will have upgrades, and McLaren may only have modest upgrades in contrast. Therefore, things would have gone better if the team had been ready before the season.

While conversing ahead of the qualifying at the press conference, the 23-year-old said, “We do have the upgrade. I think that was made clear and obvious very early on in the season. But what we have now is where we wanted to start the year. It’s what we should have started the year with. A lot of other teams also have upgrades, so our job is to try and bring slightly bigger things and try and play a little bit of catchup.”
While concluding Norris said, “It’s definitely going to take us a small step but to other people who are also bringing upgrades it will be slightly smaller. I’m excited the team did a very good job to bring these things through and to get them ready, but it’s not maximizing what we have now.”
