If Lando Norris had plans of moving to Ferrari one day, he may have just ruined them. In a recent interview with fans, Norris revealed his favorite crazy food, and the Italians will not be happy to hear this.

When asked what their go-to crazy food was, Daniel Ricciardo took the safe route and admitted to knocking back some maple syrup for a quick sweet craving. However, his McLaren teammate shared his concerning love story for salad cream.

“One thing I have a lot of is salad cream… salad cream is quite far the biggest winner. So salad cream on pizza, salad cream on pasta well, is incredible.” The Italians have drawn their pitchforks.

Norris also admitted that most people find his distinguished palette disgusting. “A lot of people look at me weirdly when I have this, but it’s something I have.” Funnily enough, the fans listening to him had very concerned faces, but Ricciardo summarized the general feeling the best.

A deeper dive into Lando Norris’ scorned love story

This isn’t the first time Norris has revealed his love for mixing salad cream with Italian food. Last season, Norris tried Italian food with his former teammate, Carlos Sainz. While Sainz explained the intricacies of the cuisine, Norris pulled out a sachet of salad cream; the Brit claimed he could make the pizza better with some salad cream.

The driver also wished to top his 2020 helmet with some of it, just for some good luck!

Regardless of weird food choices, Lando Norris remains a fan favorite. He even placed second on the global fan survey behind Max Verstappen. And he was as thankful as always. “A win for me is obviously a win on track, but having these little things off-track as well for the team and for myself, it’s nice.”

More than his popularity, Norris was glad he could be an influence on his fanbase. “Knowing I can have a bit of an influence on that younger generation of kids growing up and that age group, and even still with some of the older ones, then it’s nice to know that they’re supporting me.”

With the influence he has, maybe he can convince the Italians and his fans to make salad cream and pasta a thing. Till then, he has a P3 constructor’s battle keeping him busy.
