In the last couple of years, Lando Norris has evolved a lot as a racing driver, with his on-track performance peaking to an unimaginable level in 2021. The Briton pulled off an ecstatic show for the fans by securing multiple podiums and even almost managed to clinch his first-ever F1 Grand Prix win in Russia only for a strategical blunder to wreck his chances.
Nevertheless, it was a laudable season from Norris in 2021, and definitely one of the best performers of the year too. However, quite interestingly, Norris doesn’t seem as proud of his dominant mid-field showing in 2021. Instead, he reckoned that he was still not good enough and had a lot more to offer.
What’s more, he also pointed out that consistency is something he is hoping to improve at, heading into the 2022 season.

Norris on why Lewis Hamilton is the best driver
Speaking to This Morning, Norris elaborated on the importance of consistency in F1 as he went on to prove it by calling Lewis Hamilton as the most successful driver.
“Not good enough. One of the biggest things is consistency and delivering every single weekend. And I think that’s where you see Lewis for example is every single… like a bad weekend for him is probably like second place. But, it’s a very small error that he’s made whereas maybe I make slightly bigger ones at the moment,” he said.
“But, it’s just making sure my mistakes or my bad things are still at a very high level and are still very good in general. So, couple of mistakes last year where I had a bit of contact with someone and it put me out of the race or I lost of couple of positions from the start or something like that.”

Norris acknowledges there is more to come from his side
Despite failing to secure P5 in the championship last year, Norris is certain that he could repeat his 2021 season’s first-half success throughout the 2022 campaign.
“So, just trying to iron out these little things to make sure I’m consistently there every weekend and that’s when you get the points,” Norris concluded.
