Lando Norris was one of the standout drivers of the 2021 season. For most of the season, the McLaren driver was sitting comfortably in P5 in the championship but lost that spot to his former teammate Carlos Sainz at the last race. But at the start of the new season, Norris signed a new deal with McLaren securing his future till the 2025 season.

In 2022, we will have new cars made under new regulations and the budget cap. So it is very hard to predict for any driver how they will perform in the upcoming season. Lando, too, has mentioned that he does not know how he will perform in 2022.

We don’t know how good our car is going to be: Lando Norris

As reported by GQ, the young Brit is knowingly remaining a bit cautious before the start of the season. It is hard to judge if the Woking-based team will remain competitive at the front of the grid or not. That said Norris has mentioned he wants to work on his weaknesses and has set a few goals for the season.

” I would normally set a few of my goals after the pre-season testing. There’re obviously some more basic ones which I had from last year, which is to look at my weaknesses, find them, try and see ways of improving them for this coming season,” said Lando on his goals for the season.

“But in terms of results and positions, there’s nothing that I can say because we don’t know how good our car is going to be. We don’t know what everyone else’s cars are going to be like.

“Of course, we have high expectations and we want to be confident and motivated and so on, but there are so many rule changes this year, so no one really knows where they’re going to stack up. So time will tell,” concluded the McLaren driver.
