Fernando Alonso has already had a long and illustrious career in Formula 1. The Spaniard has come across many foes, friends, and teammates during his time. He has famously not had good relationships with a few teammates. However, that was the rule, as Alonso’s former teammate discussed their relationship and praised the two-time champion.
Alonso was teammates with the Italian Giancarlo Fisichella during their time at Renault. The two pilots raced for the Enstone-based team and got them two back-to-back constructors’ championships.

Apart from succeeding for Renault, the Italian also witnessed Alonso win two back-to-back drivers championships firsthand. The masterclass in 2005-06 filled Fisichella with immense respect for Alonso. During his interview, when asked about his strongest teammate, Fisichella simply said, “Alonso: fast, very prepared, and never failed. Together we had two good seasons.”
He also discussed his pain at Renault. He said, “In 2005, I started out winning in Australia, but then technical problems and other circumstances slowed down my run towards the title to sacrifice for the team”.
