When someone gets a shiny new toy, the first instinct is to go and play with it immediately. This is exactly what happened when someone bought a $1 million worth McLaren Senna and took it for a spin. However, the driver took the phrase, ‘breaking it in’ a little too literally, it seems.

As per a video on X, the driver could be seen performing a single donut and then going for a burnout, probably to show off. Unfortunately, not everyone can handle a McLaren as well as Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri.

Subsequently, the driver lost control of the Senna and crashed headfirst into a building. Fortunately, the good news was that the impact was not so great, and the driver was probably okay. However, the condition of the car was bad news, with the nose being crumpled up and the car totaled. Funnily, the irony of the incident was that the car crashed into the side of a car dealership. But the irony doesn’t end there!

Notably, May 1 is the 30th anniversary of the late great Ayrton Senna’s passing in his tragic Imola accident. And his namesake being treated so shabbily certainly wouldn’t bode well with the icon if he were here. After all, when McLaren first rolled out the car, it was a tribute to the three-time F1 champion and an acknowledgment of his success with the team. If anyone from McLaren were watching that video, many bets would suggest that they would take back the car and give it to someone more deserving.

Looking at the erratic set of events, even fans couldn’t keep calm as they took to social media to take jabs at the unnamed driver, with some even hilariously blaming other F1 racers.

For common folks, one million is like an elusive dream! So naturally, when someone is seen playing carelessly with such expensive machinery, they are bound to get an earful. Soon after the social media post gained traction, user flocked over to share their opinions. Some people took the opportunity to act like social media trolls, as one user jeered,Lance Stroll driving?”. Meanwhile, another quipped, “Judging from the turn into no where, I’ll go with Latifi“. The same person also joked, “Wait! That wall came out of no where! Confirmed: George Russell“.

Few people also took a dig at rich kids, saying, “Lots of money doesn’t make one smart”. One observer mused, “Lmao! Rich kids and their toys go boom.” What makes it even worse was that it was supposed to be one of 500 cars in existence, costing a whopping $1.2 million!

Furthermore, someone suggested, “Oops he clearly forgot he turned traction control off along with his brain lol”. Another agreed with the sentiment and said, “I fail to understand how you can probably feel the wheels still spinning underneath you and you decide to keep the peddle mashed lol. After he did his little 360 he kept cooking his tyres through wheelspin while picking up his speed.”

Of course, a lot of people bemoaned the loss of such a horribly expensive car. One fan raged, “Mclarens are the LAST supercars that I’d want to see driven like this”.

While the comments were mostly humorous, one can’t forget the fact that, expensive or not expensive, cars are meant to be handled with care!
