It’s the first of the three races on the American subcontinent as we head to Austin for the US Grand Prix. The fairly new track is a special one for Lewis Hamilton. The seven-time world champion has won the US Grand Prix on six occasions. The incredible record might have something to do with how Hamilton feels about the Circuit of The Americas.
Hamilton loves spending his time in the United States, which he will do more of after becoming a part owner of the Broncos. The seven-time world champion even picked up his third championship in 2015 at the US GP. There is clearly something in the American air that suits the Brit.

When asked if he agrees, there’s something about this race that brings out the best in him. Hamilton said, “Yeah, I think just being in the States, I’m very happy when I’m out here.”
“I think this track is very special. Considering it’s a newer circuit, it’s one of the best circuits that we have, provides great racing. A single lap is exciting and then we get this crowd that just keeps growing year on year,” added Hamilton, complimenting the track and the atmosphere created by the fans.
The Brit is impressed with the fans and also how F1 has adapted to newer things after the Liberty Media takeover. Especially in terms of putting on a show and Miami GP’s grand opening is proof of that.
The six-time US GP winner is also heading into the race weekend with high expectations. Maybe clinch his first win of the season.

“You can expect we’re going to try everything, as we always do. I don’t want to get my hopes up. A lot of work has naturally gone into the upgrade as it always does. — I’m just really of a really open mind. I’m hoping our car just in general works better at this circuit,” Hamilton revealed.

Mercedes might never be ready before the season ends to surpass the RB18’s superiority over the W13. However, every race is fickle and Hamilton might just extend his six wins to seven come race day.
