Kimi Raikkonen is one of the few drivers to compete in Formula 1 for over 2 decades (21 years to be precise). And of course, one can acknowledge that, despite being a part of the grid for such a long period, he certainly did not overstay his welcome.
The Finn produced enough action on the track, garnering commendable success, including a championship title with Ferrari. Subsequently, Raikkonen also earned quite a huge sum of money in his 21-year stint with Formula 1 through salaries and endorsements.

For a brief phase, Raikkonen was one of the highest-paid athletes in the entire world, with his yearly salary peaking at a whopping $50 million.
However, since his return to Alfa Romeo Racing, the inflow has significantly dropped. According to Forbes, Raikkonen’s salary for the 2021 F1 season isn’t ranked even in the top 10 of the ‘highest-paid drivers’ list.
As of now, the Ferrari world champion’s salary is around $5 million. Of course, this doesn’t necessarily come as a shock, as his priority wasn’t entirely about the salary at the time of joining Alfa Romeo, and more about wanting to end his career from where he started – Sauber.
Career earnings of Raikkonen
According to multiple reports, Raikkonen is worth around $200 million to $300 million, making him one of the richest drivers in Formula 1. As of 2017, he was only behind Fernando Alonso and the two 7-time world champions, Lewis Hamilton and Michael Schumacher.
Logically, considering Raikkonen remained active in F1 throughout the next 4 years while Alonso only for 2 years, 2021 might witness the Finn marginally ahead of the Spaniard in terms of career earnings.
However, Raikkonen’s net worth gain is likely to slow down by the end of 2021 since he will no longer be earning from racing altogether, at least for the time being.
