Red Bull could not make it to the podium after a dramatic turn of events at the Bahrain GP. While Max Verstappen had to retire the car after losing P2, Sergio Perez’s car just spun out of nowhere.

Many Formula One fans claimed that this was ‘karma’. The controversial lapped car scenario saw Max lifting the championship trophy. However, many fans feel Verstappen did not deserve the win, and Red Bull was bound to pay back later.

Mercedes fans call this ‘Karma’ for Red Bull

Mercedes fans, in particular, looked thrilled with the race results. From Verstappen losing his position to Lewis Hamilton unexpectedly finishing on the podium, they couldn’t have asked for anything better. Fans were excited as soon as they heard Max complaining on the radio, while Perez-Hamilton’s brutal last lap drama later was the cherry on the top.

Twitter, as always unforgiving, was quick to react to this chain of events.

Even after several DRS attempts, on turns 1 and 2, Verstappen consistently lost the lead to Leclerc and severely exhausted his car. Later, the Dutchman faced fuel issues, steering damage, and brake issues, which forced him to retire on the last lap.

Sergio Perez, unexpectedly, reported similar issues on the last lap. While Lewis was already closing in and would’ve overtaken the Mexican at some point, Perez’s car made it easier and just spun around. A patient Hamilton was quick to grab P3 and run away with it. It was a sad day for Red Bull, who could’ve easily finished on the podium.
