This certainly must have elated a wave of happiness among Hamilton and Mercedes fans. On seeing a dashing W14 challenger for 2023, they may be hoping that their star driver gets his elusive 8th-world title this season.

But, on this announcement, several fans have also tried to mock and spoil Hamilton fans’ party. Some stated how Max Verstappen is on a glorious run of form and is breaking record after record. Thus, Lewis staying in F1 may not yield him more glory.

Max Verstappen fans try to Mock the F1 future plans of Lewis Hamilton

There have been speculations about Lewis Hamilton signing a new deal with Mercedes. With 2023 being the last year on his current contract, the negotiations are on. Although, the Briton is yet to put pen to paper about extending his stay at Brackley.

Still, the Mercedes star assertion shows signs of an extension. Nonetheless, many Verstappen fans have reacted to Hamilton asserting his F1 future plans.

Certainly, Verstappen was on a different plane altogether last season. 15 wins in 22 races is an unprecedented feat. So, it will take a tall effort from Lewis Hamilton & Co. to topple Max and Red Bull’s supremacy this year. Still, you can never count Lewis out of the competition.

Some fans are even citing how Sebastian Vettel had claimed a similar statement in 2022. Apparently, 2 weeks later he announced his retirement from F1. So, we can take these words of Hamilton with a bucketload of salt!
