The newfound popularity of the 70-year-old sport has many contenders now making a beeline to enter it. Porsche was almost close to purchasing stakes of the Red Bull team in 2026, but the reigning champions put an end to the deal because of their concerns about losing out on complete control of the team’s operations. The new buzz in town is that the Milton Keynes-based outfit might be exploring a deal with another player.

Ford seems set to enter Formula 1 in collaboration with the Red Bull Racing team in 2026. However, Ford isn’t a brand new to the racing circuit, having raced with Jaguar in the early 2000s. The wand that Liberty Media waved over the drowning popularity of the sport has worked wonders, with it becoming a lucrative opportunity for many.

A Sports journalist, Vincenzo Landino, is of the opinion that Ford might be all set to make an F1 entry with Red Bull. He further goes on to say that “While Ford has remained tight-lipped about the situation, they have admitted that Liberty Media’s efforts to increase F1’s popularity have changed their perception and made them consider a return to the series at the pinnacle of motorsport.”

He further added, “Red Bull has their livery launch date set for NYC on 3 February. I have word from some of my contacts that Ford is sending some content creators and influencers to NYC on the same date. Coincidence? I don’t think it is at all. I’ll say it here first: Red Bull Ford will be announced at next Friday’s New York City Red Bull F1 livery launch.”

According to Toto Wolff, a global brand name like GM partnering with Andretti showcases their commitment to the sport. But, according to the conjectures, many teams are not happy with the dilution of the prize fund.
