Michael Schumacher is arguably the greatest driver in F1 history. The German is a 7- time world champion, enjoying most of his success at Ferrari. Schumacher joined the Maranello outfit in 1996. However, he had to wait for success to come with the team.

The wait was worth it, with Schumacher winning his first title with the Prancing Horse in 2000. This kicked off an era of dominance for him and Ferrari, that saw him secure 5 consecutive titles.

Recently, a clip of Ross Brawn guiding Schumacher home to secure his first title with the team has resurfaced on the internet. The video features the penultimate round of the season in Japan.

Ross Brawn guides Michael Schumacher to the finish line

Schumacher and Ross Brawn enjoyed multiple title-winning years at both Benetton and Ferrari. The driver had a very close relationship with the technical director. A clip of the duo from 2000 in Japan has been going viral once again.

The race in Suzuka saw Schumacher secure his first driver’s title with Ferrari after beating defending champion Mika Hakkinen. In fact, Schumacher’s battle with the defending champion lasted all season long. However, it was Schumi who would walk away with the spoils in Japan.

The closing stages of the race saw Schumacher being sweet-talked to the line by Brawn. He could be heard on the radio handing out instructions, “Look out, Michael. When you get out, he’ll (Hakkinen) be there. I’ll talk you through,” as he led Schumacher to the line.
