The first half of the 2023 season was all about the Aston Martin hype train. But as it turns out, it all got a bit derailed during the 2023 British Grand Prix. There wasn’t any cause to worry however for F1 fans as another dark horse rose from the ashes of its failures to put on a show. McLaren seemingly got their act together and in spectacular fashion! A bevy of updates meant Brit, Lando Norris gave the home fans something to cheer about with a fabulous podium, his first after 14 months!

It would be understandable if you thought it was the might of the 23-year-old that dragged the cumbersome MCL60 into that position after he last stood on the podium at the 2022 Emilia Romagna GP. However, Oscar Piastri was right up there with him in P4. Now, the McLaren hype train is steaming through, but Norris has signaled a word or two of caution to the Papaya army.

Norris was finally bequeathed with a car that did justice to his supreme talents. That being said, though, are we correct to judge the resurgence of the iconic British team from just one isolated performance? Well, Lando Norris doesn’t think so.

While talking about the revamped MCL60, according to F1 Autojournal, Norris revealed, “We have a pretty terrible car in low speed corners. It is extremely difficult to drive.” And they may face optimization issues, too. “People are getting excited and I like that, but we’re going to hit a few tracks where I’m sure people will be surprised that we fell in line all of a sudden,” continued the Brit.

“We improved a lot of things like tire degradation, and there are still little things you try to do with tire cooling, but nothing fabulous on that side,” concluded Norris [translated via Google Translate].

While Norris seems to err on the side of caution, his boss, Zak Brown has just delivered a thumping statement.

Zak Brown makes bold Max Verstappen claim

The way this season has panned out so far, there’s no stopping Max Verstappen and Red Bull from winning all the remaining races. However, after his team’s stunning British GP revival, Zak Brown seems confident to see Verstappen’s reign of terror end.

Brown told the media after the race, “Max [Verstappen] is getting less further ahead. It shows how healthy the sport is. We are now coming in each weekend and there’s someone at the front you weren’t expecting. I think the racing is going to be fantastic.”

Can Lando Norris and McLaren keep up this form till the end of the season?
