The Canadian Grand Prix qualifying has set a mixed-up grid for the main race on Sunday. But it was Red Bull driver and F1 world champion Max Verstappen, who took his second pole position of the season in the wet conditions.

The Dutch driver looked quick throughout the session and was well ahead of his rivals every time on the track. He was followed by the two-time world champion Fernando Alonso with an impressive P2 and Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz in P3.

The Red Bull driver seemingly poked fun at the Spanish driver’s age as he revealed he used to watch him in his childhood. But there will not be any such fun when they take the track on Sunday.

“It’s been a while. I used to look at F1 when I was a little kid and see Fernando being up there winning races and championships and putting it on the pole. To be sharing the front row is a nice thing. Of course, Fernando is getting a little bit old, but he is still very fast. I know he starts very well, so I have to be ready,” said the world champion.
