Charles Leclerc has straightforwardly surrendered that Jules Bianchi was deserving of a Formula 1 drive with Ferrari than himself.
Applauding Bianchi’s ability, Leclerc said that there was “a lot more to come” from the Frenchman. Jules had just intrigued everyone with Marussia in F1 and had been arranged for a future Ferrari drive.
An accident with a recovery vehicle in the 2014 Japanese Grand Prix caused injuries from which he could never recoup. It, at last, took his life nine months later.

In any case, for this twist of destiny, which shook racing fraternity to its center, Charles Leclerc might just have wound up racing at Ferrari with his dearest companion, a coach, and furthermore his godfather.
“Our fathers always joked that we had a very similar career,” said Leclerc.
“Strangely, when he and I were racing, every time there was a weekend. If he had a very bad race that weekend, I would have a very bad race, too. We were always joking about this.
“With our careers, obviously, they are quite similar, with also Nicholas [Todt] my manager, he took more or less the same road for both of us.”

Their professional growth is strikingly comparative. The main contrast is that while Bianchi was exposed to what ended up being a decisive second season with Marussia, Leclerc required just one season with Alfa Romeo before he was marked to a full-time race seat with Ferrari.
The pair rose through the junior motor racing classes together. Yet Bianchi, older by eight years, arrived at Formula 1 first. Like Leclerc, he was an individual from Ferrari’s Driver Academy and tried their F1 vehicle a few times.

“I’m pretty sure Jules had shown what he had to show in Formula 1. There was definitely a lot more to come. I think results like in Monaco when he was in Marussia was telling a lot about his talent.
“So he definitely deserved the F1 seat, probably the Ferrari seat even more than I did. But things decided others for him unfortunately. I’m pretty sure he would have shown probably even more than what I do. He was extremely talented.”
