The 2021 season will go down in the history of Formula One as one of its best. We will also remember the season finale as one of the most thrilling races to decide the championship. And it was tense not just for Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen, but also for their fathers. Max Verstappen’s father Jos Verstappen mentioned he was tenser than Max going into the race.
At the end of the race, there was elation for the Verstappens as Max crossed the line to become world champion. He celebrated with his father after the race, but it was the gesture of Anthony Hamilton that won the heart of Jos.

He congratulated us, so that was really nice: Jos Verstappen
As reported by Speedweek.com, Lewis’ father, Anthony, congratulated the Dutch pair on their achievement. Jos mentioned that both he and Anthony had been in contact with each other throughout the year.
“When I was sitting with Max before he went up to the podium, [Lewis’ father] Anthony was there. He congratulated us, so that was really nice. Also, during the season, I had some conversations with him over WhatsApp. He’s really nice.
“They’ve won seven titles already, so, for them, it is a bit different to when we won the first one, but he’s always respectful,” said Jos.

Max stated that he and Lewis congratulated each other after the race.
“After the race, the whole team freaked out. But of course, there is also the other side that is understandably disappointed and angry. Of course, it was very nice that Lewis came up to me right away and said, ‘Well done, congratulations.’ I thanked him for the fantastic season.” said Max.
