Singapore faced a long wet race and it ended rather well for the long-struggling Daniel Ricciardo. All smiles, the Australian shared in an interview post the race, “I’m pretty sleepy right now, but I’m very happy to finally get back in the top 5. It is my first this year, so I’m a little sad but I’m also finally very happy to get back in there. A good one for the team as well.”
“You wanna be a hero and make up- it’s a chance to make up big time. As tempting as it was, I just feel like we just needed to buy our time and Russell George went out, and I think he was quite still slow for a bit and then Gasly as well.”
“So, we were gaining time, and even though, timing didn’t feel that great, it was still the smart thing to do. I think we were patient. And then we got the safety car, and that made everything pretty peachy for us.”
“So… maturity, patience, top 5 aim.”
