The farewell season for Lewis Hamilton is not going as well as he would have liked it to go. The start of the season came with many difficulties as the car continued to show issues in 2023. Mercedes is currently P4 in the constructors, and this is a place the team has not seen since Lewis Hamilton began his reign. The team is finally back on track as they managed to get 2 podium finishes in the last two races; however, the Austrian sprint was a difficult time for Hamilton.

Now that the 7-time world champion is going to Ferrari, there are rumors around the paddock that Mercedes is trying to sabotage Lewis Hamilton. After the Canadian Grand Prix, an anonymous email found its way to the F1 community, coming from someone who claimed to be a Mercedes member. It stated that the team is deliberately trying to give Hamilton a bad season. While Toto Wolff denies all the allegations, an incident from the Austria Qualifiers says otherwise.

During the qualifiers, while Lewis Hamilton was exiting the garage, his car still had a jack and a cooling pipe in contact with it. While pulling out of the garage, they were dragged out by the car with a chance of damaging the rear. This careless exit was noticed by everyone, with many fans pointing out that this could be the sabotage that was talked about. Luckily, the car was unharmed, but the fans were unhappy to see the carelessness and that was reflected in the comments section.

Unhappy fans take shots at Mercedes’ crew

One of the fans called Mercedes’ crew lazy and made a funny rhyme while doing that. The crew did not safely deploy the car, showing they might not have been at their best and this has now come under the notice of fans.

Lewis Hamilton will be leaving the team next season, and this fan stated that the crew does not care about his car. Many supporters believe that Toto Wolff is not happy with Hamilton’s decision and has instructed the team to make his car perform poorly. However, this looks just nothing more than a careless mistake.

Another fan believes that Mercedes is trying to take revenge for abandoning the team. By saying that Mercedes would do anything and everything at this point, they expressed frustration with Hamilton’s results.

Although Mercedes has been an unbeatable team over the last decade, their reign is over. This is something Hamilton fans are not happy with, as they believe that it’s the team’s fault for not giving him a competitive car. After seeing how this wreckless qualifier release was done, one user called Mercedes a joke.

Having things still in contact with the car brought a jack and a pipe out of the garage. This is not only something that could damage the car but could also be a hazard for people in the garage. One fan mentioned how this is a safety concern for both the people in the garage and the driver in the car.
